For their first event of 2019, Seed Waikato are hosting an inspirational afternoon of story-telling. You’ll hear from EPIC young people across a range of creative industries, and we can guarantee you’ll leave feeling inspired to dream a little bigger, have hope in the face of your challenges, and feel more connected to an epic group of millennials, right here in the Waikato!
The line up includes a fashion designer, poet, photographer, film maker/blogger, illustrator, and home-ware designer. Check out their insane bios below.

Pati Solomona Tyrell | FAFSWAG | Photographer
Pati Solomona Tyrell is an interdisciplinary visual artist with a strong focus on performance. Utilizing lens-based media he creates visual outcomes that are centered around ideas of urban Pacific queer identity. Tyrell is a co-founder of the arts collective FAFSWAG. He is a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Creative Arts programme at the Manukau Institute of Technology, Otara.
Louise Hutt | Imagimation School | Creative Director
Louise is a creative powerhouse, writer, blogger and feminist and who is passionate about impactful storytelling, immersive design, and thriving communities. She is an award-winning filmmaker and has created the YouTube series Online Heroines, which perfectly marries her passion for equality and filmmaking in a compelling series of interviews with New Zealand women working in the film industry.
Loryn Engelsman | Illustrator & Designer
Loryn has been working freelance for the past 5 years from various cities around the world for clients both nationally and internationally. Her work is colourful and playful with a portfolio of projects that span across branding, editorial, products, murals, event graphics and more. She is passionate about the intersection of illustration and design and how they can be used together to tell stories, build stronger brands and connect people.
Maryana Garcia | Seed Waikato | Ripage Poet
Maryana Garcia is Head of Blogs for Seed Waikato. A firm believer in the power of storytelling, Maryana is constantly fascinated by the miracles she finds in the humans around her. Since 2017 Maryana has written her own blog entitled #LivingLit . Her poetry has been published in the University of Waikato’s Mayhem Literary Journal and in the Poetry New Zealand Yearbook 2018.
Mitchell Vincent | Mitchell Vincent Collection | Fashion Designer
Mitchell Vincent is a New Zealand Fashion designer with over 8 years’ experience within the retail and fashion industry – you might already know the label from our 6 years showcasing at New Zealand Fashion Week. Mitchell Vincent Collection, the label, has also been featured on popular television shows, red carpets, music festivals and worn by some of your favourite celebrities.
Nikki Kennedy | Taputapu | Te Reo Māori Homeware
Nikki Kennedy started the journey of Taputapu in November 2015 and currently runs Taputapu from her home. Recently graduated from the University of Waikato with a Bachelor of Media and Creative Technologies majoring in Te Reo Māori and Design Media she is determined to use her degree to help preserve Te Reo Māori through her passion of design.
