Want to be a part of the 2019 Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival?

We’re looking for artists from all genres who would like to be a part of the 2019 Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival.

The Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival is an annual, curated, multi-arts festival held in the remarkable surrounds of the award-winning Hamilton Gardens.

The festival includes professional performances and workshops across theatre, dance, music, comedy, visual arts, film, literature, and games. In 2018, the festival included award-winning bands, opera, children’s theatre, theatrical escape games, kapa haka, street performers, a visual arts exhibition, comedians, and much more.

We are particularly looking for:

  • artists that can and do respond to the unique sites of the Hamilton Gardens. If you are not familiar with the Gardens we suggest that you have a look here to get an idea of the many remarkable spaces that make up the Gardens.
  • artists who are presenting projects inspired by or reflective of local people, places and events.
  • musicians who would like to perform in the Festival Hub, a space at the festival that hosts free (to the public) performances every night and during the weekends.
  • artists who would like to run interactive, creative events such as workshops, tours, and discussions.

The 2019 Festival will take place from Wednesday 20th February – Sunday 3rd March 2019.

If you wish to submit a proposal, expressions of interest close on 22nd July 2018. Please note that for this year, we are asking for less information than previous festival call outs; at this stage we just need to know what you’d like to do in the festival so we can discuss it further with you.

We will then be going through all proposals and will contact you between the 23rd and 31st of July.

Note: If you have already submitted an idea directly to the festival, there is no need to complete another submission – we’ll be in touch.
