SOARING, INFECTIOUS & DREAMLIKE – A VERY SPECIAL PERFORMANCE BY AN IRISH MUSIC LEGEND
“ Soaring melodies … vivid lyrics… dreamlike … stunning imagery and amazing gigs that has us eatin’ the songs straight from his palm” – Damien Dempsey
Irish singer songwriter Mundy comes from a long line of great Irish performers.
While busking in Dublin during the 90s, he achieved international fame when his song ‘To You I Bestow’ featured in the soundtrack of Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet movie. A triple platinum artist in Ireland, Mundy has opened for Neil Young and Alanis Morissette, collaborated with Afro Celt Sound System, and worked with legendary producer Youth (Killing Joke Kate Bush, GnR, Crowded House). Mundy plays upbeat acoustic, folk-based music with a jangle pop influence. Or, as one critic put it, “ridiculously infectious pop-rock that lodges in your cranium like squatters in a vacant house”. Mundy will be performing with the Séamus Begley Trio. Don’t miss this celebration of Irish music and song.
